Fitbit and Google Cloud will open to doctors access to your data

Fitbit and Google Cloud announce today a partnership around the health sector. Using Google's Cloud Healthcare API, physicians will be able to access health data from smart health connected wristband users and other Fitbit accessories.
The health data can be extremely valuable for doctors and researchers. They can help to advance the fight against diseases, but also to develop personalized care. Unfortunately, access to these data is largely restricted. For reasons, this information is difficult to collect, but also difficult to organize.
In March 2018, to improve the interoperability of health data, Google launched the Cloud Healthcare API. After a first wave of partnerships with institutions like the Stanford School of Medicine, Google today announced a partnership with the US company Fitbit.
Thanks to the Cloud Healthcare API, the market leader in smart health connected bracelets will open access to its data to healthcare professionals. Fitbit seeks to develop for doctors a centralized access point from which they can view both medical records and data collected by Fitbit devices.
Fitbit wants to become a major player in the healthcare sector
Indeed, if Fitbit is widely considered a manufacturer of accessories for sports, the firm wants to evolve and invest more in the health sector. The heart rate or physical activity data can complete the medical records, and expand the profile of a patient to understand his personal situation in more detail.
In addition, Fitbit recently acquired the startup Twine Health. This should allow the manufacturer's future smart health connected accessories to obtain more information about health problems such as diabetes and hypertension.
