Fitbit cleans up applications for its Ionic and Versa watches

Fitbit Labs removes from its platform several of its applications present on its Ionic and Versa smart health connected watches.

Fitbit Labs, the application branch of the company behind the smart health connected bracelets of the same name, decided to have a good sweep. She has just announced thatpart of their application catalog would be removed of their platform soon. They will not disappear from watches on which they are already installed, but will have reduced functions. The applications concerned were launched at the same time as the Fitbit Ionic and Versa, respectively at the end of 2017 and in March 2018.

Fitbit justified this decision by declaring that it wants to make room "for new experiences in the future". A disguised way of saying that third-party platform applications do not serve much users. These are mostly content with those that are preinstalled. And this, despite the efforts of a bunch of developers who gathered around the smartwatch builder.
