FitBit products still cause skin rashes
FitBit products always cause skin rashes. Some owners of the new smartwatch posted photos of the rashes on Twitter.
FitBit, interviewed by TechCrunch explains that a very limited percentage of users have reported skin irritation and that these reactions are not uncommon with devices that remain in contact with the skin for extended periods of time.
Fitbit, who has consulted with dermatologists, explains that products must be kept clean and dry and that they should not be removed from time to time during the day. This is not the first time that a Fitbit device has caused a rash. Already in 2013, the company had to recall its first activity tracker. At the time, Fitbit said the flares were caused by the nickel used in the bracelet. The brand had therefore reduced the quantity.
On the brand's last smart health connected devices, a notice informs users: "Prolonged contact may contribute to irritation or skin allergies in some users. If you notice any signs of redness of the skin, swelling, itching, or other skin irritation, please stop using it or wear the product on clothing. "
Competitors like Jawbone, Nike, Garmin and many others have encountered the same problems; whether it's activity trackers or watches.
