Fitbit Surge gains autonomy

[ad_1]

Fitbit comes out during the day an update allowing the Fitbit Surge, its "Fitness Superwatch" to double its autonomy when the GPS is activated. To this, he adds a new system of alerts and notifications. Update on this update.

To compete with industry experts like TomTom or Garmin, Fitbit needed to have a competitive smart health watch at every level. If it already exceeds the Garmin Forerunner 225 integrated features, it was not quite the height in terms of autonomy: it is now over. The Fitbit Surge will see its autonomy go from 5 to 10 hours when the GPS and the heart rate sensor are activated. That's as much as his counterpart at Garmin, and that's good! The Battery in standard use lasts for 5 to 7 days.

To this, Fitbit will also add a new notification system, called "Run Cues" in English (understand "race signals"). This will allow the rider to receive specific notifications when goals are achieved during the course, such as an indication of its performance after one kilometer etc. It's up to him to define the notifications he wants to get on his watch.

For those who do not know it yet, the Fitbit Surge is a sensor of physical activity at the crossroads between a smart health connected bracelet and a smartwatch. It is clearly the most complete of all smart sensors currently available on the market, far ahead of Jawbone, Withings and other Misfit. We have mentioned it in our guide on smart health connected bracelets. Its price is at the price of GPS watches, and slightly above that of standard physical activity sensors: 238,60 € at Cdiscount.
