Fitbit Surge now usable by cyclists
Fitbit Surge, Fitbit’s multi-sport smartwatch, will be complemented by a software update that will allow it to be used by cyclists.
Fitbit Surge is a smartwatch that includes GPS and a heart rate sensor. In total, no less than eight sensors are integrated into this smart health watch.
Thanks to this update, cyclists will be able to know and analyze the statistics concerning the distance traveled, the duration, the average speed, the heart rate and the calories burned; all these statistics are of course synchronized wirelessly in the Fitbit accompanying application. Thanks to the GPS, you will also be able to see the route of your routes.
“Our members are fitness enthusiasts and have always asked for a way to track their outdoor cycling activity. So this feature is for those looking to track and better understand their performance on hikes and other workouts, "said Tim Roberts, vice president of Interactive, Fitbit.
The Fitbit Surge bike update will be available in the United States in April, with a more advanced version expected later.
