[Flash] Google launches into surgical robots
Definitely, Google takes health very seriously. After the patent filed last week for a bracelet capable of fighting cancer, the American giant wants to get into surgery.
Google’s Life Science team will partner with Ethicon, the mechanical division of Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals. The goal, create a robotic platform for robotic assistance. The idea behind all this is of course to have robots capable of supporting doctors during operations, but not only, patients will also benefit. A definite advance in the field of health if all of this comes true.
Johnson & Johnson, the world's leading healthcare group in terms of net profit, wants to developtechnologies that reduce trauma and stress caused by surgery while improving healing processes. The firm turned to Google for its expertise in robotic systems.
We are still far from an operation entirely carried out by machines, but we are approaching it slowly remains a pending question, do you trust machines more than humans?
