Ford announces e-bike for the city, the MoDe

In the middle of WCS, Ford just announced this Monday, March 2, a smart health connected foldable bike, called the MoDe: Me, which is part of a “Smart Mobility Plan”.

Revealed in January, the Smart Mobility Plan consists of the combination of a car and an electric bike. Launched in two versions: the MoDe: Me for individuals and the MoDe: Pro, larger and intended for professionals, like letter carriers for example. Both are equipped with a 200 watt motor (allowing you to go 25 km / h with a few pedal strokes) and a 9 hour battery. The bike also has a small space to place a smartphone, which, via a dedicated application and only iOS compatible for the moment, will be able to play the role of map and guide, while being permanently recharged. The application will also be linked to several sensors and cameras on the bike, and can activate several things. For example, vibrate the right handle to turn right and follow the route, and activate the indicators on its own. The driver of the MoDe will thus be able to concentrate on driving.

The electric car “linked” to MoDe should be revealed in the coming days.
