Forerunner 25 – Garmin's entry-level smartwatch
The Forerunner 25 is an entry-level smartwatch unveiled by Garmin today. It signs a new offensive of the brand to try to really penetrate the very competitive market of the smart health connected watch.
The Forerunner 25 is thinner than the previous version, the Forerunner 15. It is equipped with a GPS and can receive notifications; remember that the main market from Garmin is the GPS market. It also has a non-touch monochrome LCD screen. While the Forerunner 225 was equipped with an optical sensor to monitoring the heart rate, a first for the brand, this watch is more aimed at Sunday runners who only want to know their running pace.
The new Forerunner is also water-resistant to 50 meters. You will also find an activity monitoring there; ideal for sedentary people. You can also pair a heart rate monitoring with it. A good solution to overcome the low level of equipment of the watch. To complete the picture, Garmin offers a range of colors and two watch sizes to suit male wrists and female wrists.
Very good point for the smartwatch: the lifespan of its battery. It will be able to operate in activity for up to 10 hours continuously with the GPS functionality activated. No one knows if this new Garmin installment will finally allow it to compete with the Apple Watch or Android Wear watches, but it cannot be said that the brand has not tried. It will be marketed in the third quarter at a price of $ 169.99. Prices for Europe have not yet been released.
