French Tech Grand Paris and AP-HP join forces to support start-ups

The French digital health sector intends to accelerate. On Tuesday, the French Tech Grand Paris and the Digital Medical Hub, the clinical research platform on connected objects and their mobile health applications of the AP-HP, announced the forthcoming implementation of a free support program for help start-ups grow.

Coach start-ups

Entitled “HIIT”, for “Health Innovation Intensive Training”, this first edition will allow the 20 selected companies to benefit from the advice, expertise and network of the entire ecosystem, for a week in April. “Gathering the good fairies of e-health to look into the cradle of young shoots”, summarizes Nicolas Castoldi, executive director of the Hôtel-Dieu initiative at AP-HP and sponsor of the program, alongside Clara Chappaz, director of the French Tech mission.

The call for applications is open. To hope to be able to join the first promotion, start-ups must be French (preferably established in the Paris region) and be at a preclinical stage, but with a “high potential for disruption”. This program is intended exclusively for pharmatech or medtech companies. The list of selected start-ups will be unveiled at the MedInTechs fair, which is to take place on March 13 and 14.

Acceleration strategy

When it comes to innovation, we cannot be satisfied with a “Cruising speed”, had declared, in November, the Minister of Health, François Braun, when the government announced a new envelope of 48.4 million euros within the framework of the strategy for the acceleration of digital health, from France 2030.

If this announcement focused on issues related to training, and the appropriation of digital uses by professionals in particular, the support of French nuggets was not left out. The ministers present had thus unveiled fifteen projects which will be supported financially in the clinical trial phases, which are often very expensive, but nevertheless essential. 11.3 million have been put on the table by Bpifrance to carry out this mission.
