Galaxy Watch Active 2: Samsung formalizes its new smart health connected watch

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has just been formalized. It incorporates a new dial with tactile borders for navigation as well as the One UI interface adapted to Tyzen. Two sizes (44mm and 40mm) are available. An LTE compatible version is also available.

After the Galaxy Tab S6 tablet a few days ago and pending the Galaxy Note 10, Samsung has officially promised to launch the Galaxy Watch Active 2 this August 5, 2019, six months after the first model. The smart health connected watch naturally incorporates some improvements compared to the old model. The first is the integration of the One UI interface, which can be found on the brand's smartphones from the Galaxy S10, to the Tyzen OS. She promises a “Simple, clear and natural user experience for navigation”. The latter is also facilitated by a new dial, some of the touch borders allow scrolling menus.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2: two sizes, One UI arrives

Several models of the smart health connected watch are available. Consumers first have the choice between two sizes: 44mm and 40mm. The first offers a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with 360 x 360 pixel resolution and a 340 mAh battery. The smallest offers a 1.2 inch panel and a battery with 247 mAh capacity. In terms of performance, there is an Exynos 9110 Dual core 1.15 GHz chip. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is then available in two versions: Bluetooth 5.0 or LTE.

The smart health connected watch will be launched in the United States in September 2019. It is not yet known whether it will be the same for Europe. For now Samsung has only formalized the prices in dollars for the United States, but the German site AllAboutSamsung has published the prices in euros for the old continent:

• Galaxy Watch Active 2 Aluminum 40mm: 299 euros

• Galaxy Watch Active 2 Aluminum 44mm: 319 euros

• Galaxy Watch Active 2 Stainless Steel 40mm: 399 euros

• Galaxy Watch Active 2 Stainless Steel 44mm: 419 euros

• Galaxy Watch Active 2 Stainless Steel 40mm LTE: 449 euros

• Galaxy Watch Active 2 Stainless Steel 44mm LTE: 469 euros
