Galaxy Watch Active2 with touchscreen and LTE is coming
That's it ! The Galaxy Watch Active2 smartwatch is coming soon and proves that Samsung is continuing to chart its own course with its smartwatches, far from Apple Watch and Google's Wear OS. The Galaxy Watch Active2 will run on Tizen from Samsung. The improvements made between February and August seem quite interesting. Samsung has developed a touch screen to navigate menus and options on the screen; which makes the Tizen integrated operating system much easier to use.
This time, the Galaxy Watch Active2 is available, with a 44 mm model (with a 1.4 inch screen) joining the 40 mm model (with a 1.2 inch screen). An LTE version will also be available to make calls directly from the Galaxy Watch Active2.
Galaxy Watch Active2 brings real improvements
Samsung also says it has been busy improving the accelerometer and heart rate tracking inside the watch. This should make it possible to benefit from more precise and reliable information on his physical condition.
The Galaxy Watch Active2 smart health connected watch will also have an ECG function; just like the Apple Watch Series 4. This will closely monitoring your heart rate and detect any potential problems. However, according to Samsung, this feature needs to be further tested before it is ready.
On the software side, this smartwatch offers runners the ability to record lap times and split times. Note also the arrival of a new application called My Style. It allows you to take a photo of your outfit with your phone from the watch face.
Design and features
Speaking of style choices, you can choose between an aluminum case with a rubber strap (fluoroelastomer) or a stainless steel case with a leather strap. Three color combinations are available in each combination; silver, black and gold.
Inside, the Galaxy Watch Active2 has 4 GB of storage space as well as 768 MB (non-LTE) or 1.5 GB (LTE) of RAM. The 1.15 GHz dual-core processor Exynos 9110 from Samsung ensures that everything works properly.
The other specifications you need to know are IP68 dustproof and waterproofing up to 50 meters. An NFC chip has been integrated for mobile payments and compatibility with iPhones and most Android phones. Regarding the integrated sensors, the big miss is the GPS. You cannot therefore follow your route when you run or cycle without your smartphone.
The smartwatch costs 280 US dollars. Pre-orders are open on September 6 and the watch will go on sale on September 27. You can see the official promotional ehealth below.
