Garmin announces Vivofit 2 and Vivoactive

[ad_1]

CES officially started today and you can follow it on our live page. In this article we are interested in 2 products that Garmin has just announced. Garmin has just announced the second version of its Vivofit bracelet, the Vivofit 2 and a smart health connected watch, the Vivoactive.

Let's first take a look at Vivofit. We talked about the first generation Vivofit almost a year ago today.

The new version has little difference apart from the design part. The new model has a bracelet where you find a 2-color OLED screen and all the usual features you'd expect from an activity tracker. The new version also has sound alerts when you sit too long, and a stopwatch for your workouts and even a display that lets you see the screen in the dark.

The big news is from the design point of view. Garmin has formalized a collection for this bracelet with leather or steel models and colors for all tastes. Instead of having a color, Garmin now sells 3 different packs neutral (black, slate and white), downtown (bordeaux, slate and navy), active (red, blue and green), serenity (mint, cloud, lilac), and finally energy (canary yellow, pink and purple). These packs will be sold for $ 24.99.

For the people who would prefer patterns to personalize your device, Garmin thought of you, designer Jonathan Adler created original patterns. What is interesting for owners of the old model is the fact that the pack of 3 bracelets will be available for the first generation of the device at a price of $ 39.99.

The bracelet will available early 2015 for € 129 or € 159 with a heart rate monitoring.

Garmin Vivoactive, a sports smart health connected watch

Now let's take a look at Vivoactive. This smart health connected watch is a shows who manages different activities such as running, cycling, golf or swimming.

Level technical characteristics, the watch has Bluetooth and synchronizes via the Garmin application for a autonomy of 3 weeks maximum using watch mode and activity tracking and only 10 hours with GPS activated. It is also waterproof up to 50m.

The data recovered is very varied and can be displayed on the watch. You can see your cadence, time and distance traveled using GPS and only speed and distance without GPS, using the accelerometer. For swimmers you will be able to know the number of lengths, total and interval distances, pace and interval for each length, and number of calories burned. The number of arm movements is very reliable as it allows you to get a score SWOLF, an indicator of the effectiveness of your swimming.

A final advantage of the Vivoactive is that it can be paired with a heart rate monitoring, for example, or with a cadence sensor for bikes.

The watch will sold for € 249 or € 299 with heart rate monitoring and will be available during the first quarter of 2015. For more information visit Garmin's site.
