Our opinion on the MARQ series
Garmin wants to stand out from the competition by offering very high-end combining luxury and advanced technology. These 5 exceptional watches with an authentic appearance indeed offer the best in technology today. Luxury watch enthusiasts looking for beauty, quality and smart features should therefore be satisfied.
The MARQ series is obviously aimed at people who can afford to pay between 1,500 and 2,500 € for a sports watch.
The price seems high, however, despite the functions offered and the care taken in the design of the watch. Admittedly, the on-board functions are impressive but they are, for the most part, already offered on the Fenix 5 Plus or on other specialized watches (marine watch Quatix 5, aviation watch D2 Delta PX). The materials are of high quality but those of the Fenix 5 are also high depending on the models. Does that justify the 850 to 1850 € more to pay for the MARQ series? This is especially true for the MARQ Athlete which is neither more nor less than a Fenix 5X Plus at a significantly higher price.
Besides, a luxury watch is made to last. These will be obsolete in a few years or even unusable with the wear of the battery. In addition, the Fenix 6 should soon see the light of day and will bring new functions which the MARQ series will not have.
That said, these considerations should not be a problem for wealthy people who want to have fun. These exceptional watches can complete a collection and be replaced in 2-3 years when a new series comes.
These models have the advantage of bringing together the best of Garmin watches and also offering new functions that are perfectly suited to the practice of the sports on offer. They are beautiful and of quality. They can be worn everyday, at work or in town, in addition to sports. The quality and interest of Garmin watches is well established.
We liked
The chic side of the watch and the wealth of features offered
New and appropriate functions for the targeted sport
The quality of the materials and their choice according to the sport
The care taken in making the watch and bracelet
The best of Garmin watches brought together in an exceptional model
We'd have liked
The price seems high compared to other high-end Garmin watches close to the series (Fenix 5 Plus in particular)
