Garmin vívosmart 4 fitness tracker tests: performance at a glance
[ad_1]
Editor's review of Garmin vívosmart 4 fitness tracker
Garmin optically uses a compact housing with metal accents and an integrated touchscreen for vívosmart 4. The bracelet is available in four colors: black, light blue, silver or dark red / rose gold, but cannot be changed after purchase. We see this as a clear shortcoming of the otherwise solid fitness tracker. It is also a pity that Garmin has designed its display to be very compact, making it difficult to read messages.
On the other hand, it is practical to calculate the daily stress level. This is done by measuring and evaluating your own heart rate variability (time interval between each heartbeat). So every user can assess whether he should take more breaks or if he wants to improve his performance. In addition, Garmin vívosmart 4 uses sleep analysis to evaluate the light, deep and REM phases of its users and display them in the Garmin Connect Mobile app.
Last but not least, this fitness tracker is waterproof and, according to the manufacturer, easily survives swimming or showering. Sports divers or operators of high-speed water sports should, however, better choose a model with even higher water resistance (e.g. the Garmin vívoactive HR Sport GPS smartwatch).
In our opinion, the number of measurement and optimization options for the Garmin vívosmart 4 fitness tracker is absolutely sufficient for everyone who does sports in a private setting.
Although the measured values cannot be compared with those of clinical devices (which, incidentally, no commercial tracker can yet do), they help you to better assess your own body.
We recommend vívosmart 4 for all recreational athletes who, in addition to their fitness values, also keep an eye on sleep quality and stress levels, but do not want to spend more than 100 euros on them.
Fitness tracker with heart rate measurement, 7 days of battery life and sleep analysis
Garmin vívosmart 4 fitness tracker: The most important functions at a glance
Once attached to the wrist, vívosmart 4 measures the heart rate and detects the oxygen content in the blood via a Pulse Ox sensor. The oxygen level is checked automatically during sleep, and the measurement can be activated manually during the day. In addition, this model analyzes the current stress level and shows the body's remaining energy reserves in the app. When training, athletes can usually choose between different modes – e.g. Walking, running, weight training, yoga or swimming pool. Vívosmart 4 displays smart notifications with vibration alarms so that users do not miss an update while doing sports.
After training, a breathing exercise timer helps to calm down. If the fitness tracker is used without a sleep analysis function, the battery lasts up to seven days, according to Garmin.
