GMR Adidas – Google Jacquard back with Adidas and EA

Adidas, Google and EA have teamed up for the last part of the Jacquard project: the GMR Adidas. You will see, this product is quite different from the previous one.

The GMR Adidas is a pair of insoles for smart health connected football boots. The Footy Headlines leak confirms an official Google teaser on Twitter and Instagram.

GMR Adidas - Google Jacquard returns for collaboration with Adidas and EA

The latter suggests that this collaboration using Google’s Project Jacquard smart clothing platform will be announced soon.

Adidas GMR insoles will measure your performance in the field by giving you information on the field; as well as kick and ball control measures.

But that's not all. The statistics will be used by FIFA Mobile. And although we don't have all the details yet, it looks like you can create your own player in Ultimate Team, based on your own performance.

For the uninitiated wondering what Google Jacquard is, this is a smart clothing project from Google’s Google Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) division. I have already spoken to you about this on several occasions.

Two products have been launched so far. A denim cycling jacket made by Levis with tactile controls on the sleeves. It was followed by the Yves Saint Laurent Cit-E bag in 2018 with touch controls in the straps.

However, it seems that the characteristics of this product will be completely different from previous Jacquard releases where the touch controls were woven on the fabric. These touch controls may have turned into pressure sensors. Anyway, we are waiting for an evolution of the platform.
