Google Health smart health connected Bracelet monitors vital signs
The new smart health connected health bracelet that Google has just presented can be used in clinics and hospitals to monitoring patients' vital signs.
Google's new health smart health connected bracelet is a new device developed within the famous Google X division. It will be able to measure the pulse, heart rate and skin temperature and will provide information on the environment such as exposure levels to noise and light.
Andy Conrad, head of the life sciences team at Google, said it will not be marketed directly to consumers. He explains: "It is intended that this will become a medical device that is prescribed to patients or used for clinical trials"
This product appears to meet the demands of doctors, researchers and drug manufacturers who have long sought a way to continuously monitoring patients' vital signs outside of a laboratory. The real issue for Google X will be the reliability and accuracy of the measured data.
Google will also collaborate with university researchers and pharmaceutical companies to Review the accuracy of the bracelet and obtain regulatory approval to use it in the United States and Europe. According to Google spokesperson Jacquelyn Miller, the trials of this Health-Tracking Wristband will start this summer. Google is also looking for a partner to manufacture it.
With this smart health connected device, Google and its Google X division seems indeed determined to impose itself in the world of medicine! We especially remember projects like the one I presented to you: Google smart contact lenses but Google's health division would also work on a portable device capable of detecting cancer or a magnetized antibody pill capable of attach to cancer cells.
