Google is developing a remote coronavirus screening website
[ad_1]
Verily, an Alphabet company, Google’s parent company, is trying out a website that helps people know if they’re having coronavirus symptoms.
However, the site will not replace the Review, but will allow us to pre-screen non-suspect cases. Thus, the tool will advise a Review only if a person meets the criteria established by the medical authorities. If necessary, the user will also be directed to the nearest center that can accommodate them.
Coronavirus testing website: only for part of California
The initiative is the result of a collaboration between the State of California and Verily. In fact, it’s aboutan extension of the Project Baseline site developed by the latter for medical research.
For now, only residents of a few suburbs of San Francisco will benefit from the tool. However, Google intends to extend the initiative throughout the United States, as more cities equip themselves with tests.
Unfortunately, French people will probably never be able to access this site to find out if they should worry about not having the coronavirus. But you can still check out our top items for maximum protection from the Covid-19.
Some privacy protections
As health is a sensitive area, Verily has implemented a few measures to reassure Internet users. First, it will take be at least 18 years old to be able to use his tool. Next, the company says no data will be used for targeted advertising. That said, Google will share the information it collects with a few entities, including California authorities.
In any case, the data collected will come exclusively from survey to which Review users must submit. Among other things, this one asks for the symptoms presented by the surfer as well as the last places where he traveled. If the patient is at risk of having coronaviruses, the website will direct them to the nearest medical center, which will have enough tests in reserve to receive it.
