But the device CGM (Continuous Glucose monitoring) may well be the first end product offered by Google to individuals in the health field. Indeed, last June, Google X had unveiled a smart health connected bracelet capable of collecting a lot of health data (heart rate, blood pressure, skin temperature) but it was then intended for doctors, who could prescribe it, like a medicine, to their patient, in order to analyze their health. To carry out the GCM, Google partnered with the firm Dexcom specializing in the medial universe. The company will have access to Google’s technologies and skills allowing the miniaturization of elements. In exchange, Dexcom will be responsible for the production of the object. For the moment, few details have filtered on the shape that the object will take, we only know that the size will be tiny, since it is a question of a size similar to the dollar dime coin whose diameter barely reaches 18 mm. It then seems obvious that the object will not have a screen, but will need to be smart health connected to a smartphone or tablet to recover the data.

In financial terms, Dexcom will enter the capital of Google Life Science for up to 35 million dollars via a share buyback, as well as a payment of 65 million for Research and Development and royalties of 5 to 9% on the money from the sale of the GCM.
