Google Stadia will only offer 12 games at its launch on November 19

In a market of cloud gaming still stammering, the arrival of a mastodon like Google has something to worry the historical actors such as Sony (PlayStation Now), Nvidia (GeForce Now) or Blade (Shadow). However, it is not on its catalog of games that Stadia can really stand out at first. Indeed, although Google has tried to enrich its catalog, announcing up to 40 games including several headlines to come, it will be low profile at its launch, the first users having pre-ordered the edition Founders or Premiere before content with 12 titles. And not always newer to make things worse.

A handful of really recent games

It will therefore be necessary not to have already completed the last trilogy tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or continue to fight in combat games Samurai Shodown and Mortal Kombat 11 to enjoy half of the best-known titles of the launch. More recent and probably more confidential, the puzzle game Kine and the youngest of Tequila Works (Rhyme), a solitaire adventure game named Gylt, will attract the most curious.

But to truly gauge the quality of the service, we can turn to the latest PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, which is not without posing some technical problems to the first-time buyers now. Hopefully the Stadia version will offer the stability that the game deserves, in addition to a higher graphics quality than console versions.

Finally, the rhythm game Thumper, the king of dance Just Dance 2020, and finally the integral of Destiny 2 complete the offer Stadia which wants to be varied enough to seduce all types of players, if not rich.

A catalog doubled by the end of the year

Google is nevertheless reassuring, indicating that 14 other games will be grafted to the catalog by the end of the year, among which Attack on Titan 2 Final Battle, Borderlands 3, Darksiders Genesis, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Farming Simulator 19, Final Fantasy XV, Football Manager 2020, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Grid, Metro Exodus, NBA 2K20, rage 2, Rising Trials and Wolfenstein Youngblood. Of course, other titles will come in 2020, especially Doom: Eternal, WatchDogs: Legion, Gods & Monsters and, of course, the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077.

These progressive launches probably allow Google to better control the load of servers and the management of inevitable technical problems. It also leaves some time for the competition to respond.
