The news has just fallen: GoPro will be the official camera of the Tour com France 2015. Thanks to a partnership concluded between the Californian firm and Velon (entity bringing together 11 of the biggest cycling teams on the Tour), the riders of the Grande Boucle will equipped with GoPro camera to allow the spectator to experience the Tour like never before.

Todd Ballard, Senior Director of Lifestyle Marketing at GoPro, said, "Cycling is one of the most beautiful team sports, but the best times are often beyond the reach of the cameras." The GoPro, placed on the bikes of the Velon member teams, will be able to capture those moments that a helicopter-borne camera or placed on a motorcycle will not perceive.

The videos thus captured should be published on social networks by the various cycling teams, both during the Tour and afterwards. There is no doubt that this should shake up the habits of cycling enthusiasts, who will now be able to experience the Tour as if they were there!

However, this is not the first time that GoPro have been used on the race. Thus a GoPro placed on the bike of FDJ rider Jeremy Roy had captured from the inside the incredible avoidance of a fall right in front of him (video below)!
