Halo Sport – A smart health connected helmet stimulating the brain of athletes

Halo Sport is not a smart health connected headset like the others because it is able to stimulate the brains of athletes to allow them to make the most of their training sessions and improve their performance.

Halo Sport was designed by Halo Neuroscience. These smart health connected headphones use a brain stimulation technique which uses a weak electric current which is sent to the user's brain via two primers (in simpler language: via electrodes) placed inside the headband.

The idea behind this technology and this helmet is that this electrical stimulation is able to tap into a region of the brain that relates to sports and fitness. Halo Neuroscience calls this neuropriming. Using pulses of electrical energy, the helmet will initiate the signal from the part of the motor cortex of the brain. This will improve the strength, intensity and dexterity of the athlete.

The Halo Sport smart health connected helmet is mainly intended for training sessions requiring a high volume of quality repetitions. It could therefore be suitable for people practicing sports such as football, basketball and baseball. Neuropriming sessions last 20 minutes. They are initiated from the dedicated application; which at the moment is only compatible with an iPhone. Android smartphones should be compatible soon. In addition, additional functionality should be offered soon via in-app purchases.

This is not the first time that we have discovered a wearable that stimulates the brain. Other products, such as Melomind, have already been presented on crowdfunding platforms. If you are interested in trying Halo Sport, you will have to wait until the end of the year. It is currently available for pre-order at the reduced price of $ 550. Its retail price will be $ 750. At this price, you will also have to add the change of primers every three months.
