headphones that measure activity

Misfit always has the gift to surprise us. At the previous CES, the American start-up announced to fully engage in health home automation, starting with its first smart health connected bulb Bolt. Since then, the company has changed its plans: besides the new activity tracker Ray (nth declination of the original Misfit Shine …), we discover today Bluetooth headsets: the Misfit Specter.

Obviously Misfit has changed his mind and will just surf what he does best: monitoring physical activity. The start-up recently bought by Fossil launches in what are called the "Hearables" (contraction of 'Hear' and 'Wearables') with its Bluetooth headphones baptized Specter. This new product would come from a collaboration with another Chinese actor, 1MORE, and would be supported by the musical producer Luca Bignardi.

No more classic headphones that "just" play music. Like Jabra (who has been marketing a similar product for a long time), Misfit adds sensors to measure physical activity directly from the ears. The wearer can thus measure discreetly the number of steps, the calories burned and even his sleep if he decided to sleep with (!!). On the other hand, no mention of heart rate sensorwhich is rather popular for this kind of products.

The solution still seems a little more wobbly than Jabra's headphones since the sensors are not located in the atrium itself, but in a small sensor placed on the cord that connects the two atria (and will gently hang during your exercises).

Misfit simply explained that headphones would be available "in 2016", without giving price.
