Heatzy Flam smart health connected thermostat Review

Today we are going to discover a French product (cocorico), it is the smart health connected thermostat Heatzy flam.

Next to Netatmo and other Nest products, the Heatzy Flam is distinguished by a smart health connected thermometer remote from the control module and a very competitive price.

You will be able to control your boiler, pellet stove and heat pump from your smartphone via a simple and intuitive interface. And with installation in minutes without the need to draw electrical cables throughout the house. So what more could you ask for?

Without further ado, let's discover this promising smart health connected thermostat.

Equipment

Hardware side, Heatzy flam arrives in a beautiful well-kept box with a lot of design around to explain the nature of the product.

The product itself consists of two modules. The first is the Heatzy flam, this is the module that will connect to the boiler to give it the instructions. The second module, called Plugzy, is a controllable health home automation socket. Its main function is to ensure communication with the first module and to provide the current temperature in the room.

The rest of the product also includes a user manual and a set of double-sided screws and tape for mounting the Heatzy flam.

Plugzy

The plugzy is, as we saw above, a smart health connected health home automation socket. On its front there is a button allowing to power or not the equipment which is behind him and also to allow the association of the module with our internet box.

I find that the socket block is a good size and reacts quickly when it is triggered physically, useful if you want to "domotize" a device that was not originally designed for.

Regarding the module, it is composed of two batches of cable. The first to supply it to the sector and the second to reserve for piloting the boiler. The cables are well labeled so no reason to get lost.

Above is a black button that allows manual control of the boiler ignition and two small LEDs that indicate activity and connection indicators.

I really like the sleek matt white design, it fits well into the decoration if the module is used to control a pellet stove for example.

Remarks

Two points to note about the characteristics, the first is the non-compatibility with 5Ghz wifi, you never know it costs nothing to re-specify it.

Second point is that the communication between the two modules is via a radio signal. Care must therefore be taken not to move the two modules too far between 25 and 50 m away from the obstacles to be crossed.

Heatzy Flam installation

For the installation nothing very complicated, we are helped by a well detailed manual in French and illustrated.

We start by connecting the box Heatzy flam to our boiler, we start with the pilot cables and then with the power supply. If everything is good, the two small LEDs flash red.

On this point I can only advise you to take the manual of your boiler to know how to do it. Personally it didn't take me more than 15 min to complete the operation.

Now the application, install the application on your smartphone and then create an account. To add a module, just press the “+” and be guided.

Then comes the plugzy module, neither is there anything very complicated. Connect the plug to the wall, then press the button on the front panel for 5 seconds (slow flashing).

And voila in a few minutes, our module can be controlled on our smartphone via the Heatzy application.

How the Heatzy Flam works

So here we are on the dashboard, as we can see our module is available with a return to its status.

You can switch the boiler on or off by clicking on the "OFF" button or select a heating mode: Day / Night / Frost-free and activate or deactivate the programming. And even give it a small name.

By clicking on the thermometer, you can also readjust the temperature.

We slide to the right of the module to configure the trigger temperatures.

We slide to the left of the module to manage the trigger programming.

It is simple and quick to configure, the color code is easily understandable. Excluding Gel in blue, Eco in dark green and Comfort in red.

At the top left there is the “P“, Which allows you to select pre-recorded programs. All you have to do is adapt the schedules a bit to your liking.

And of course let's not forget the online help.

Conclusion

After a few days of use, I am satisfied with the Heatzy flam. The application is fluid, fast and ergonomic, whether in WiFi or 4G.

The installation is quick and without any real difficulty, the planning is complete and easy to master. We can go very finely in the temperature and schedule options. On the price side, we find ourselves there, with an aggressive price compared to its competitors, the Heatzy flam full of assets for him.

And small bonus, we will see together in a next article how to associate the Heatzy flam with our Jeedom health home automation box.

So, see you soon for a new article.
