high-end functions for these true wireless … less than 100 euros

If you remember the Divacore Antipods, these Oglo Muz TWS will not be entirely foreign to you. They are in fact the same headphones, but "rewired" under the audio brand of the distributor Boulanger. The approach has the advantage of offering a proven product, supplemented by new technologies, for a reasonable price.

Difficult indeed to do better in terms of functions than these Muz TWS marketed 99 euros. These true wireless Bluetooth 5 headphones are supplied with a 2,500 mAh charging box that can also be used as an external battery to give autonomy to any device, typically a smartphone. In addition, this case includes a Qi-compatible induction charging system. It can thus be charged without having to connect it.

Excellent autonomy

And autonomy question, these headphones are among the best on the market since our lab measured continuous operation of 6 h 38 before complete discharge. Unsurprisingly, it was also the performance of the very first Antipods in 2017. We are however a little disappointed that almost three years later, it is still a micro USB connector that is integrated and not a more modern USB-C port.

With this 2,500 mAh battery, the case is obviously much more bulky than that of AirPods, which is quite logical. On the other hand, there is a fear for the life of the semi-translucent plastic tape which makes it possible to connect the two parts of the case. In what state will it be after several months of use and multiple manipulations? Difficult to say, but one can express serious doubts about its solidity.

The headphones themselves are quite compact and fit well in the ears. We regret, however, the incessant blue flashing of the LED on board in each of them. It's annoying enough for those in front of the person wearing them, but also for the latter when using the Muz TWS in the dark; worse in complete darkness. And there is no way to turn it off.

The sound quality in question

We regret that no application is provided by Oglo. The vast majority of true wireless earphones and headsets are now controlled in this way. The user can thus access a variety of settings which are often very useful for personalizing their device. Above all, it allows him to adapt the builder's sound signature to his tastes. And as much to say that these Muz TWS would need it …

In fact, the frequency response curve produced by the absmarthealth lab shows that this model is largely oriented towards mediums and low mediums. The bass is not very deep and the treble not very present; which gives the impression of a blatant lack of details. But even with a correction, it would be difficult to make up for this defect as the frequency spectrum is narrow.

The human ear is supposed to perceive frequencies ranging from 20 to 20,000 hertz and a large part of audio systems offer this reproduction. With the Muz TWS, the bass goes down painfully to 473 hertz and barely goes up to 10,500 hertz. It is therefore impossible under these conditions to physically reproduce these frequencies, even with equalization.
