Hot Wheels id – A smart track kit with NFC cars at Apple

With the Hot Wheels id racing set, Mattel is giving its Hot Wheels brand a big facelift it needed.

Hot Wheels id. is a multi-piece kit that allows children (or adults) to race with new Hot Wheels cars. These cars are NFC compatible and run on a smart track; the price of which is $ 179.99.

Obviously, this smart track also connects to classic Hot Wheels tracks and can analyze vehicles to measure speed and laps via infrared sensors. As for the complete Smart Track, it includes a 16-piece Smart Track, a racing portal and two exclusive cars. Each piece can be purchased separately from the Apple Stores, but the race portal (which, again, can be used with standard Hot Wheels tracks) also includes two new id cars.

Mattel has announced that it will launch 51 id die-cast cars with NFC tags as part of six collections in 2019. Good news for anyone who likes to play with these legendary little cars.

Vehicles that will be available for rental include the Corvette C7R, the SRT Viper GTS-R, the 2016 Mercedes AMG GT. As well as the Aston Martin One-77, the Howlin Heat. , Motosaurus, Shark Hammer 2.0 and Arachnorod.

The idea is that children can now scan their Hot Wheels collections in a new Hot Wheeld identification app; and thus store virtually all of their vehicles.

Mattel said each new id car would cost $ 6.99. A price that I find particularly affordable. The app also offers kids challenges to break race records.

The new set is available exclusively on Apple.com and the Apple Store. An Android version of the app will be launched on the Play Store from July 10.
