HTC Grip – A smart health connected bracelet with integrated GPS

The HTC Grip is a smart health connected bracelet with integrated GPS which was presented at MWC 2015. HTC is therefore finally making its debut on the fitness market.

HTC Grip is therefore a new fitness tracker designed for "elite athletes" and therefore targets the segment of the population that uses smart wristbands for sports, not just how many steps are taken each day.

The Grip is black and lime in color, its design is reminiscent of the Nike Fuelband and even has the same clasp that pulls the hairs from your arms. This smart health bracelet is designed to work with the Under Armor app.

Mainly a tracker for racing, it has an OLED screen with passive matrix to display information on distance, speed and time. If you can work independently thanks to the GPS chip, it works better with a smartphone; notifications, music, or even messages can be displayed to which you can respond with pre-defined words.

Surprise: there is no integrated heart rate monitoring because HTC believes that the technology is not good enough and wants to offer as an accessory a heart rate strap smart health connected in Bluethooth. With a battery life that should be able to last five hours with the GPS running (enough for a marathon in some cases), the device will not be very expensive: 199 dollars when launched.

The HTC Grip release date has been set for "spring of this year".
