Huawei announces TalkBand B1, a hybrid smart health connected watch

[ad_1]

When the World Congress on Mobile Telephony in Barcelona (MWC 2014) opens, the latest latecomers in turn announce the launch of smart health connected watches. With an estimate of around 17 million smart health connected watches sold in 2014 (Canalys study), we can understand that LG, Samsung and Huawei are doing it too. The latter finally formalized the release of the TalkBand B1, which should not however that going out in China at first (March 2014), and later in the year in the rest of the world. No specific date has been announced.

Talkband B1, a hybrid watch

For 99 euros, Huawei will therefore offer a watch that will receive the phone calls and messages via Bluetooth 4.1, and will combine also a activity tracker : pedometer, sleep sensor, etc. It therefore differs from other smart health connected watches in that it has voice features still nonexistent with the competition. The downside is that the TalkBand B1 watch will only work with phones Android for the time being. On the practical side, you will have to remove the dial from the Talkband and attach it to your ear to have a conversation (thank you for the aesthetic side!) – sort of headset. For the technique, the watch incorporates a 1.4 inch OLED screen, weighs only 26g and has a dual microphone, which helps reduce ambient noise. Its autonomy would be 6 days, and charging is done via micro-USB.

The group also has a dedicated interactive page on the MWC 2014 on his website.
