Hypnos, a luminaire without blue light to sleep quickly

While LEDs literally invade our lives and prevent us from sleeping, the Hypnos luminaire wants to protect us with a restful amber light.

Noise seems to have a monopoly on smart health connected sleep. Pointed to by ANSES in 2019 for their harmful effects on our biological cycle, LEDs and their blue light have not stopped polluting our interiors. Between the bulbs, the TV screen and the smartphone screen, we are surrounded. Developed by the French company Lucibel, Hypnos could be the solution.

Hypnos, the light not too bright

For optimal rest, ANSES recommends warm white lighting for the house, the light temperature must not exceed 3000 K. Otherwise, the quality and duration of sleep will suffer.

To design your Hypnos, Lucibel has followed the ANSES studies well since the luminaire produces light with a temperature lower than that recommended. Indeed, it does not rise beyond 2700K. Better she can go down to 1620 K for lighting completely devoid of blue light.

An adjustable atmosphere

The Hypnos luminaire incorporates 4 pre-recorded modes who follow the recommendations of Doctor François Duforez, a sleep specialist who collaborated in the development of the device. Their objective is to promote the secretion of melatonin. This hormone regulates the rhythms of the body and therefore sleep. According to Lucibel, it should turn on the light 30 to 60 minutes before going to bed.

In addition to ordinary consumers, Hypnos could prove to be useful for top athletes, stadiums lit by powerful spotlights disrupting their metabolism. Using the fixture in the locker room would effectively restore their biological clock. According to the manufacturer, a Ligue 1 club is already studying this possibility.

If you are interested, the Hypnos sleep aid fixture is available to order here for 629 euros. It’s expensive, but it’s the price of a good night.
