Ikea Trådfri plugs will soon be compatible with HomeKit, Apple’s health home automation ecosystem. The Swedish company is currently rolling out an update to this effect on the American market. In a few days, it will be offered to all European users. We explain to you what it will change.

The Trådfri sockets are among the best smart health connected sockets on the market. Sold at low prices, they are compatible with Google health home, Amazon Alexa, IFTT. Soon, they will make their way into Apple’s HomeKit ecosystem, which lets you centralize all your smart health connected objects in a single application.

“We have launched the deployment of the new gateway firmware update. We regret that it took so long. To ensure a smooth release, we have started deployment to the United States and will continue with a global release starting next week. ” announces the furniture giant on Reddit.

The Ikea plug appears in the health home app, available on iPhone, iPad and Mac, next to your other smart health connected objects, such as your Hue Philips bulbs for example.

As a reminder, the Ikea Trådfri smart health connected socket is sold in France at a starting price of € 8. To use the sockets, you must absolutely invest in a gateway, available for 32.90 euros.
