A first mobile application dedicated to reviewing and updating knowledge on themedicine for dispensary teams has been deployed: Défimédoc. Discovery.

Start-up created in July 2019 by Florence Bontemps, Dr in pharmacy, former Scientific Director of the monitoring of Pharmacies, Défimédoc has developed a training tool adapted to the new requirements of the pharmacy teams in terms of available time, training efficiency , but also fun to train.

The application Défimédoc presents itself as an innovative training tool for pharmacists, pharmacy teams and pharmacy students. It offers two new Quizzes per week (IEC, anticoagulants, tramadol estrogen-progestogen contraception, etc.): a summary quiz on Monday and a quiz of practical applications on Thursday. Once a month, the Quiz focuses on the topicality of the drug.

Each Quiz is written by a Dr in pharmacy and proofread by the Scientific Committee of Défimédoc (pharmacologists andexpert pharmacists). Défimédoc is completely independent from the pharmaceutical industry.

Défimédoc offers a very visual side in order to maintain the motivation of learners:

  • for each quiz, positioning of the learner in relation to all users,

  • evolution of the cumulative score,

  • % of quizzes passed and validated,

  • improvement rate

  • participation rate over the weeks.

Each class of medication associated with a Quiz is the subject of a 10-point summary sheet that can be consulted at any time. Quizzes and summary sheets are written from independent bibliographic sources: HAS, ansm, medicaments.gouv.com, lecrat.com, sitegpr.com, Omedit, Sociétés Scholars. The specialties mentioned are for educational purposes. The bibliography appears at the end of each Sheet. The contents are updated in real time.

The application includes discussion spaces around the themes of the quizzes, intended to ask the opinion of a colleague or to provide an interesting testimony for all learners. For each theme, it is possible to respond or initiate a new discussion. This part of social-learning is moderated by Défimédoc. Learners can intervene under pseudo.

An experiment with the Défimédoc mobile application was carried out in partnership with URPS Pharmaciens Ile-com-France on 100 pharmacists for two months (May-June 2019). In total, 1982 Quiz sessions were carried out in two months, including 943 Quiz in first sessions and 1039 in redone sessions). 100% of the experimenters would recommend the application to a colleague.

The Défimédoc application is available as a monthly or annual subscription, either in app or on the websitewww.defimedoc.com. It is possible on the site to buy several licenses for the pharmacy team.

The contents of the application are only available via the mobile application after downloading from Applestore orPlay store.
