it's D-Day, or D0 – e-health innovation

[ad_1]

Here is a patient, while he is not yet operated, thanks in part to his APP, good visibility on what will happen to him this famous D-day.

Not so long ago, the patient relied blindly on health professionals, he was confident. A dose of fatalism made it possible to put undesirable events into perspective. Today, he takes charge and informs himself, the demand for results is legitimately high.

But the volume of information delivered is enormous, a source of stress, much more than in the days of paternalistic medicine.

This is partly why his APP is so precious. Even though there are still some somewhat imprecise "details" in his medical schedule for this D-day (and we will only talk about D-Day 1 in the next post), he knows he has a guide in hand very valuable: his APP.

During this period, the same functionalities as for the previous period are available within the application.

The only difference is that the stimuli of the application are more numerous, in order to make sure that the previous steps have been carried out, that everything is in order and especially that the last steps will be correctly understood.

D 0 before the operation

The big day. The application must be there to support and guide the patient step by step. In order to reassure him even more, and due to the narrower chronology, the interface evolves and offers extremely clear and precise navigation so that the patient identifies very precisely each step to be performed, hour after hour.

  • Help with the care path / Check-List

Very clear illustrations will guide him throughout his day, through stages that he will have to validate. Fasting, showering, transport… the patient is taken by hand, at each stage, by precise and framed instructions.

After each step, the next one is clearly announced: the patient is completely taken care of by an intuitive process adapted to the target.

In addition, thanks to the management interface, the level of support required will be configured for each patient, with specific levels of explanation, support is precisely personalized.

AJ 0, the application is not only transformed into a very clear “list of things to do”, but the support is also reinforced: the “coach” can be present in a much more sustained way, to give the impression to the patient let his doctor accompany him every minute on this special day for him.

At this stage, the patient always has access to the functionalities of administrative contact, contact with healthcare teams or even the presentation of the teams. If you want to activate these features within your application.

D 0 – after the operation

Once the intervention has been carried out, and depending on the patient's condition, the doctor can choose to modify the support that will be offered within the application. Depending on the patient, he will have access to the following functionalities within his application:

  • Help with the care path / Check-List

Within the same interface, the patient will always have access to his checklist, grouping together all of the actions he has to carry out in the hours following the operation.

In the form of a timeline, all of these steps are always presented to the patient in chronological and clear order. By pressing each step, the patient accesses a short description of the task to be accomplished. It will be indicated if the task is completed, in progress, or pending. Depending on its feedback, the task will disappear from its timeline, or in the event that this task has not yet been completed, will be reminded at will with personalized alerts.

It should be noted that here again, the doctor or the healthcare team will be able to access the checklists of each patient, and thus see very precisely the progress of their preparations.

  • Constant monitoring

After the operation, the application turns into a real remote monitoring application.

Concretely, (a priori, until the next appointment with the doctor) the patient will be asked every day to answer a few simple questions to analyze the post-operative evolution (feeling, pain, fatigue, morale, stress for example for data reporting). The platform can go much further and synchronize with smart health connected objects to automatically bring up the necessary measurements (weight, temperature, patient's tension, etc.) Everything has been predefined depending on the context!

Patients will be asked questions. Patients will be able to respond to them through clear and very intuitive interfaces, and doctors / healthcare teams will have immediate access to the results in their dedicated interface.

Alerts can be positioned that can send information very specifically within the interface, or even send an SMS / Mail to the doctor / healthcare team to draw their attention to this or that patient, and allow treatment. faster.

The patient will have a complete compliance aid within his application, to help him better manage his medication intake. Treatment reminders, chronology of past and future treatments, drug identification: this compliance functionality has multiple functions. It is also accompanied by specific alerts: in this way, the doctor (or the patient) can decide whether the patient receives an alert when a take has not been honored (at least not entered in the application).

This observance feature can be activated later.

After such an intervention, a large number of questions arise for the patient. By default, the application offers him a series of content adapted to his context and profile to allow him to better understand the situation. In addition, this support is supplemented by the provision of a complete content base grouping together all of the most frequently asked questions.

The coach is of course still present within the service, to best support the patient and guide him.

  • Contact with his care team

If digital support is not enough, the patient will have a quick access button to call the healthcare team or the doctor.

The deployment of a messaging interface can be planned.

The patient will of course retain visibility over the rest of their care journey.

  • Information about the team

Through a dedicated section, the patient will always be able to access additional information on the clinic or on the team / doctor who performed the operation.

Here is a patient who will thus have lived as serenely as possible the famous and usually potentially traumatic D0. The function of the APP is to allow patients to live better this day, to avoid certain errors causing possible complications, see already at this stage, to note deviant surveillance elements which must alert or be monitored according to pre-established protocols.

Each day suffices his sentence and we will see in a new episode how the J1 postoperative will be framed.

This immediate post-operative period and very often at health home is decisive, and our APP will watch!
