Heavy solid copper construction with hot tinned lining (almost a lost art) and weighing a reassuring nearly 20 ounces where most similar capacity flasks weigh a fraction of that at 4 ounces. The devil is in the details here, and a good quality, natural cork is required ( not cheap and easy to flavor plastic). There is an optional chain and cork keeper that attaches to the copper cleat on the flask’s shoulder. Oval shape with no sharp corners to catch or tear and a satisfying feel and heft in the hand. Unlike most flasks these days, the metal on this one cannot be easily flexed.

Depending on the caliber, range, and other conditions, it may or may not stop a bullet, but it may certainly slow one down. The body is one sheet of copper (sorry, can’t mic it – contact them for specific specs) with a seam running up the center back and solid pieces of hot tinned copper stamped to the body at the top and bottom. Authentic Jacob Bromwell (signature) Since 1819′′ is stamped on the bottom plate. It has a pleasant tactile feel to it, and it is pleasant to hold. There’ll be no excuse for dropping or misplacing this flask!

The neck is a little longer and sturdier than most flasks nowadays, resulting in a significantly more robust seal. The fit and finish are likewise excellent, and the copper thickness is adequate. The design is well-executed and consistent throughout the item. The flask as a whole is significantly superior to any modern flask we’ve seen.
