Jawbone Health to take over from Jawbone

Jawbone's slow and painful demise is coming to an end, but thanks to an injection of capital, a new entity is being created: Jawbone Health Hub.

Jawbone Health will take over some of the technology from Jawbone. According to The Information and TechCrunch, this new Hosain Rahman company has been in the pipeline for some time. Earlier this year, there were indications that the brand would offer health-related services. A strategy that could be profitable; rather than continuing to compete with brands like Fitbits.

Jawbone Health

Despite the confusingly similar name, Jawbone Health is a new company with a new independent investor; although some employees have started to transfer from one company to another. The company has also published several job vacancies and is looking for hardware and software developers. Here is what one of these job offers tells us:

"Jawbone Health is at the forefront of the primary care revolution for millions of patients worldwide. Combining over 20 years of proprietary technology with clinically relevant signals, Jawbone Health connects patients and physicians like never before with an ongoing, data-driven dialogue. This unique position led daily is to redefine primary care, while helping people live happier, healthier and longer lives. "

To date, the company and Hosain Rahman have declined to answer any questions. Jawbone's Facebook and Twitter accounts were silenced earlier this year. Suddenly, customer complaints are piling up … Even on the side of Jawbone investors like BlackRock, Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, JP Morgan, Mayfield and Khosla, it's radio silence.

Launched in the 90s, Jawbone has made a name for itself with its Jambox speaker. But the brand was quickly attacked by new entrants and had therefore tried to diversify.

Sherwood Partners is expected to manage the liquidation process for Jawbone. He will also have to manage the company's ongoing legal issues with Fitbit.
