Jawbone still wins trial against Fitbit

The patent war never ends between the two giants of smart health connected bracelets. Last April, it was Fitbit who was to win against his competitor after 3 trials in 3 months. However, the wheel seems to be turning today for Jawbone, which is again successful.

A judge of the US International Trade Court (US International Trade Commission) indeed comes frominvalidate 3 patents filed by Fitbit and used against Jawbone in another trial. The latter, whose next hearing was expected on August 8, is also suspended for the time being.

The documents in question concern wearables activity trackers, the Heart Rate Monitors or again motion detection. 3 concepts that must now be considered as abstract and so ineligible for patenting.

While Jawbone is fully satisfied with this decision of the court, which it says compensates the wrongs of persecution from James Park's firm, the latter ensures that it is very well prepared for the challenge with all the necessary means. A call is expected (Fitbit has until August 1 to assert his right): the quarrel between the two brands is thus far from over!

The 3 other legal actions between Jawbone and the market leader (with 75% of PDM in the USA and 25% worldwide in Q1 2016) are still not finished!
