UP Move by Jawbone
The “ quantified self “, More precisely” self-assessment “, is booming. What drives brands to do very good activity trackers with a lower cost than most in the market. And that Jawbone understood. By exiting UP Move, the brand is setting up a real little everyday gadget, light, and design that is constantly worn on you and tracks your daily life as well as your nights through your meals.
UP Move in its box
The design of the box is very minimalist. It is a plastic box and all of the information about the tracker is on the back of the box.
Fonctionnalities
The integrated 3-axis accelerometer counts the number of steps taken over the course of a day, it allows you to set personalized goals to see the progress made.
The tracker also measures the number of calories burned by age, weight, height and activity level of the wearer.
UP Move tracks the quality of our sleep. It detects at what time of the night we were in deep sleep or light sleep. But also how long it took us to sleep, how many times we got up at night, for example.
The Smart Coach permeates our lifestyle and gives us personalized messages to go to bed at the right time, walk a little more during the day and eat healthy. Yes, UP Move also allows you improve the quality of your diet. For my part, this did not particularly force me to eat healthy, but rather to realize that I need to eat better!
Design and ergonomics
Thanks to its lithium battery which is not rechargeable, Jawbone’s UP Move has a lifespan of 4 months. The tracker measures physical activity: steps, calories burned, sleep … It weighs 6.8 grams and 2.76 x 2.76 x 0.97 cm for the dimensions.
Mobile app
Jawbone’s UP Move is compatible with all iOS and Android smartphones. Versions later than iPhone 4S are not taken into account, you can also use them with your iPad or iPod. Only downside, your device must be equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 to be functional.
Jawbone’s UP app is very intuitive and especially she is beautiful and therefore navigating inside is a pleasure. There are a lot of features to take advantage of from the start.
The possibility of create custom alerts for bedtime, the daily sports session, the meal or even the medication is very effective, but honestly it is sometimes difficult to correctly respect the objectives that we set for ourselves.

Application options
Getting started and adaptation time
Getting started is relatively simple, with the application you are directly taken care of and each step of the “installation” if I may say so, has its ehealth. No way to be wrong!
You get used to the presence of the tracker very quickly, it is so small that it even makes you forget its presence.

Conclusion
What I liked : The tracker of Jawbone has the distinction of being quite design and can therefore be clipped and worn everywhere. The sleeptracker is one of the best options we have with UP Move, its ability to detect periods of light sleep and deep sleep gives us a real overview of our night.
What I did not like : As I had already specified above, “foodtracking” is not very practical, after each meal you have to enter the application to select everything we have eaten, better not to be too head in it air because there are moments when we quickly forget its presence (and it’s not bad, sometimes…)
It’s good pity that the bracelet is not provided in the package. You have to buy it individually and it’s hard to find. On Amazon there are in pack of 3 at the price of 29.99 €. The problem with the clip is that it is not very effective during sleep, I was very hesitant about where to put it so that it does not bother me during the night. And despite that, he went back to “on” mode during one of the nights. The bracelet is constantly worn around the wrist, with the clip it is important not to forget it on clothes, which is not very practical.
Improvements that should be made: There is no alarm clock function, which could be a good initiative from Jawbone, for example an alarm clock which could sound when we have reached our goal of 100% sleep so as not to risk sleeping longer than what we need?
The “Search UP Move” function is not very functional, the tracker often remains frozen in one place when it is not there. Perhaps an update of the application should be considered?

Use / handling
Overview
Design : Minimalist, but very comfortable to wear, the design is still well designed.Application : Nothing to say about the application, it is very functional, and fluid during use. The explanatory videos at the start to put UP Move are really well done. Regular user support by Jawbone.features : The sleep tracker is very effective in knowing how our night went. To have compared my numbers of steps with my smartphone the Jawbone is quite accurate. For the food tracker, it is a little complicated to go and find the ingredients that we consumed during our meal.use : Thanks to the application which provides all the necessary elements, the use becomes very simple, it just lacks a notice inside the box for those who have not had the initiative to download the application from the beginning.Value for money : In view of the features it offers, it is one of the cheapest trackers on the market, on sale at € 49.90, as the bracelets are not supplied inside. Buying them separately is quite expensive. You have to count for a set of 3 bracelets 29.99 €, or 79.80 € for a complete kit.
