JIMMY JV51: Review, price and specification – Stick vacuum cleaner

The Jimmy JV51 has a soft brush for hard floors and short pile carpets and a small motorized brush more suitable for vacuuming long pile carpets.

On hard ground, using the soft brush, the Jimmy does very well and manages to eliminate all of the waste in just over 30 s, both in Normal mode and in Boost mode.

On fine carpet, always with the soft brush, the JV 51 collected 87% of the waste in 30 s and all the waste in one minute, in Normal mode. In Boost mode, it can eliminate 90% of waste in 30 s and all in less than a minute.

If the JV51 is very good on hard ground and fine carpet, on carpet with long pile, the result is quite different! By using the small motorized brush – which is supposed to remove the detritus on this surface -, the result is clearly not there: the JV51 eliminated only 41% of the waste in one minute and 51% in two minutes. For comparison, the Dyson V11, which is our benchmark in terms of suction, managed to vacuum 94% of the trash in 2 minutes. We find almost similar results in Boost mode, although the brush hangs too much on the ground. Therefore, we advise you to use the Normal mode on this type of surface, even if it is not very effective.
