KidsMD gives Alexa more voice

[ad_1]

In order to improve medical and hospital care for children, Boston Hospital and its children's service have taken the initiative to become more accessible through the Kids® app, paired with Alexa from Amazon. In this way, Alexa will be able to deliver simple health advice to the parents of children with health problems thanks to KidsMD.

KidsMD gives Alexa more voice

So KidsMD’s goal is to bring new skills and medical knowledge to parents and their children. By spreading medical knowledge beyond the walls of Boston Hospital, staff hope through digital democratize it and make it more accessible.

You may be wondering how it actually works?

Any device associated with Alexa such as the Amazon Echo can access Kids®. Then a parent can ask Alexa if their child's symptoms, such as a fever associated with a rash, actually requires medical treatment or not.

In addition, parents will be able to ask questions and receive advice regarding medication or dosages, depending on the child's age, weight or ailments. Of course, KidsMD and Alexa will never replace real medical care when needed, but will relieve hospital teams all too often unnecessarily overwhelmed by unwarranted parental concerns.

Amazon wants to go further

Amazon has announced that Alexa may soon integrate new features with FitBit. So a voice command combined with an entertainment device and an activity tracker will allow you to manage many more things in your life with ease.

A case to follow!
