Kiwano launches electric scooter with self-balancing wheel
When launched in 2017, the KO1 monochrome scooter offered a range of 20 km and a maximum speed of 32 km / h. The KO1 + looks very similar to the original, but turns out to be very different.
The latest monowheel from Kiwano has LG battery cells stored in the handlebar stem for a range of 40 km per charge. The 1,000 watt hub motor can travel at 19 km / h; which is lower than the original. However, this should be sufficient for most users. He should also be able to handle 30% slopes.
Made of carbon fiber, polycarbonate and flexible zinc alloy for a superior quality feel, it is moisture resistant and weather resistant IP54. The KO1 + is mounted on a chunky tire. He can ride on grass, sand, mud or on a conventional road. It is also equipped with an anti-shock suspension to be able to absorb shocks.
The company's intelligent Auto Deck control system would make driving quite simple. Just walk on the fold-down, non-slip footrests, lean forward and leave. As in similar configurations, the cyclist leans left or right to turn around and stands up to stop.
The indicators are lit at the top front and bottom at the back. An LCD display shows battery status, speed and trip information. It is also equipped with an integrated folding stand.
Then, a dedicated application allows you to personalize it. It will therefore be possible to change the processing modes, the definition of the launch angle and can even activate a tracking mode. The app can also be used as a digital key for added security.
Available now for $ 1,299, buyers can choose city or all-terrain tires. As well as optional accessories such as an actioncam holder, an additional charger and a Kiwano helmet.
