Unpacking the Senso WiFi opening detector

Let's start with the packaging, as usual Konyks takes good care of the packaging. The whole is attractive with a presentation of the product, its functionalities and technical characteristics.

Inside, we find the famous WiFi Senso opening detector with a screw and double-sided mounting kit as well as an installation and warranty booklet. The set works on two AAA batteries unfortunately not supplied.

Who says WiFi module, says no need for health home automation boxes or other products. The Senso will integrate very easily and quickly into your existing installation. Another good point is the autonomy, here displayed 6 months and I would tend to believe it. Another positive point is the anti-vandalism detection system, it is located at the rear of the module and allows you to be warned if the module is no longer correctly fixed to its support.

We only regret the absence of a riser kit to adapt the height of the two equipment depending on where it will be installed.

Installation and first use

We start by installing the smartphone app available for free on Android and iOS.

Okay, then let's go to the association. To do this, we start by inserting the batteries in the Senso in order to obtain a rapid flashing of the LED. If this is not the case, press the "Reset" button located at the top of the battery compartment for 5 seconds.

On our mobile application, we add a new module by clicking the cross at the top right of the health home screen. Then choose the type of module to install and follow the instructions displayed. And here we are in a few minutes with a Senso which returns its status to our smartphone.

As you can see, three states are available, “Open”, “Closed” and “Vandalism alarm”. We also have access to the state of the batteries represented by a percentage, it is very practical not to break down.

You can also access a history of time stamped state changes and configure the different notifications. Another interesting feature is the possibility of delegating an authorization to access your equipment to a loved one if for example you are going on vacation.

Small bonus, I will show you how to set up a scenario which uses our Senso WiFi opening detector. To do this, go to “scenario”, enter a name, a condition and a trigger action. Here, I trigger the lighting of a light via the smart health connected Priska + socket when the door is open and it is sunset. This is just one example among many, all that remains is to create your own.

Conclusion

Sold for 24.90 € on the site official Konyks, the Senso WiFi opening detector is a very practical and easy to install and use product. The whole is of good manufacture, with good reactivity and icing on the cake, it is French Tech.

On the negative side, there is the lack of a booster kit and the limitation of the mobile application to further use of the scenarios. It would have been interesting to make available the possibility of triggering an alert between 22:00 and 07:00 for example. And for the moment, there is not really the possibility of using it as an alarm system, but that will change in the coming months with the addition of other equipment such as a smart health connected siren.
