Kwikset launches a smart lock

Kwikset is not the first time trying to connect smart locks, but the price of $ 219 from its previous model, Kevo, had somewhat chilled many buyers.

Kwikset therefore decided to review its copy to offer this time a more affordable lock at a price closer to that of traditional locks. The Signature lock is smart health connected in Z-Wave and is offered at a price of 150 dollars.

To get this price, the brand has removed all the superfluous: you will need a gateway or a Z-Wave controller such as the VeraEdge, the SmartThings Hub or the Wink Hub to use it. This new smart lock can be used with a smartphone, a tablet, or any other device smart health connected to the internet. It is possible to remotely check the state of the lock, lock it, unlock it and receive alerts each time it is unlocked. The numeric keypad on older models has also been removed. This means that you will need to take out your phone to unlock the door and enter your health home.

Two models will be offered: a round model and a square model. Several finishes will also be offered. In short, at this price, this lock is likely to sell this time; even if a little extra effort on the price would be welcome.
