LET Labs unveils smart glasses equipped with Alexa
LET Labs has just unveiled its smart glasses fitted with Alexa via a crowdfunding campaign on the Indigogo site. A new step for the brand and for Amazon’s artificial intelligence.
LET Labs smart glasses are available for pre-order starting at $ 119. Personally, I find the price very reasonable. What I also like is their design; they look like classic glasses.
Muller Sun, CEO of LET Labs, told Wareable that his Alexa-equipped smart glasses were inspired by Amazon itself. While playing with his Echo, Muller Sun realized that it was not possible to use it outside the health home. So he had the idea of creating an object that could allow this; much like Google Glass.
To activate Alexa, all you have to do is double tap the right side of the glasses and then speak; no watchword is required. You will be able to control the smart health connected objects of your smarthome, order pizzas, ask for the weather, buy things on Amazon and everything you already do on your Echo device.
Bone conduction technology transmits music directly to your ear canal through your bones, and the built-in microphone lets you answer calls. If you don't like Alexa, you can also access Siri or Google Assistant. To do this, just press the right side of the glasses for about three seconds. Besides, this touch zone on the right side also offers you some gestural controls; like increasing and decreasing the sound volume.
Three glasses frames are available. There is the basic option, with half of the glass framed. Another version looks a bit like a Ray-Ban peer. Your lenses can also be personalized with a blue light filter, polarized lenses or photochromic transition lenses. According to LET Labs, you can use your glasses for 10 days on a single charge.
