LG presents the Lifeband Touch, its smart health connected bracelet

[ad_1]

LG was one of the most present brands at CES 2014. Besides the smart health connected televisions running WebOS, she got noticed by the announcement of its new activity sensor, the Lifeband Touch. This smart health connected bracelet incorporates the strengths of its competitors, while trying to give it a personal touch.

Has LG learned from its mistakes?

At CES 2013, LG announced his Smart Activity Tracker was just a faint copy of the Nike Fuelband and therefore never saw the light of day. This year, LG unveiled the Lifeband Touch which, despite a reworked design, remains close to the Fuelband. The screen is Oled and tactile, so you can move from information to information without having to press a button.

In addition to the usual data collected by the activity sensors (distance, calories, steps, etc.) the Lifeband Touch is a notification bracelet. Compatible with Android and iOS, it will indicate the identity of the person calling you on your Smartphone, the receipt of an SMS (but you will not be able to read it), and the music currently playing. néanmois, you can change the song thanks to its touch screen. The autonomy announced is 7 days. Important point, the bracelet is not completely closed, we just hope that it will remain well attached to the wrist … The bracelet is resistant to rainwater, but not waterproof (like most of its competitors).

What makes the Lifeband Touch a different bracelet

LG has focused on applications for its bracelet: You will have the choice between using the LG application, or that of its partners whose MapMyFitness, RunKeeper, MyFitnessPal and Withings are part of. LG is playing the opening game, maybe that’s how the Lifeband Touch will be successful (especially since its partner communities are already well developed).

Second point, a pair of in-ear headphones can accompany the bracelet. These will, among other things, capture heart rate of the user and thus refine the data and better cross-check them.

Finally, we talked about LG's smart health connected TVs in a previous article – with which the bracelet can also communicate. You can therefore follow a fitness program on your television and the specific data will then be captured by the bracelet.

On the price side, nothing official, even if the journalists present at CES speak of a range of 150 to 200 €. Outing planned around March. We invite you to discover the presentation ehealth of the bracelet, which is very well done:
