LG presents its first portable air purifier smart health connected in Bluetooth. christened "PuriCare Mini" and as big as a 50 cl bottle, it's more suited to small spaces like the interior of a car.

LG enhances its PuriCare range dedicated to health and well-being. After the PuriCare 360 °, the PuriCare Mini enters the manufacturer's catalog.

His abilities

According to the data sheet, this new air purifier is equipped with a HEPA filter that traps the finest dust particles up to 0.3 μm. In contrast, the LG air purifier does not seem to be equipped with an activated carbon filter, which is unfortunate since this filter eliminates the smell of smoke or other scented candle.

The PuriCare Mini also ships an air quality sensor that allows to know the saturation level of particles in the air. A light located on the upper part of the device is supposed to inform the user of the level of pollution present in the room: the indicator light is green if the level is low, and red if it is very polluted.

Four power levels are announced: Auto, Low, High and Turbo and the camera can reach 8 hours of battery life for the lowest mode and 2 hours in Turbo mode. The charging time of the PuriCare Mini is approximately 4 hours and is via a USB-C cable.

LG states that at 70 cm from the aircraft its sound power is 48 dB (A) for the Turbo function, 43 dB (A) for High and 30 dB (A) for Low. A promise that we will not fail to check when the PuriCare Mini will be in our lab.

LG announces that this purifier can reduce by 50% the dust concentration of a 3m vehicle passenger compartment2in 10 minutes with the highest ventilation mode; no data is unveiled for a larger space. This is a shame, because the manufacturer argues that the PuriCare Mini is powerful to purify the air of a room. But, we are not convinced that a device of this size arrives there while even the best ones need a lot of time to carry out a complete purification of a room of 22 m2 like the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool.

The application

This device is controlled with the PuriCare Mini application thanks to a Bluetooth connection, limiting the scope of action unlike a Wi-Fi connection. So we do not move away from the purifier to have the data available on the application. such as the operating time of the device or the percentage of treatment remaining.

Notifications are also sent to the user on his smartphone to alert him when the battery needs to be charged or the HEPA filter changed. Finally, the ventilation modes are also adjustable on this interface or directly through the commands on the device.

The icing on the cake

Finally, a support for stroller is proposed. Problem: it is necessary to place the apparatus in front of the head of the child if one wishes to bring him purified air; not sure that the toddler appreciates the breath generated by the device nor that it is very healthy for his health. If one doubts its effectiveness in purifying a room, our skepticism reaches its climax in terms of its performance to treat the air of a street or a park.

The PuriCare Mini is already available in Asia at $ 1,980 Hong Kong, or about € 230. There are no release dates or introductory prices for Europe at this time.
