LingLong DingDong A3 – The Chinese rival of the Amazon Echo

The LingLong DingDong A3, or Buzz A3, smart speaker from iFlytek is the Chinese version of the now famous Amazon Echo. But you will see that this competitor does not necessarily displease Amazon; who even sees it as an opportunity.

The LingLong DingDong A3 is sold at a price of 698 yuan, a little less than 100 euros. The voice-managed gadget has many features similar to the Echo.

Thanks to it, you will be able to listen to music, consult information, listen to audio books, check the weather, control smart health connected objects, control your health home automation, add instances to your calendar, etc. Currently, 10 third-party services work with the voice commands of this device. The list is set to evolve exponentially in the coming months.

The A3 is available in Mandarin and Cantonese versions. The two languages ​​are not available at the same time. It works with three command phrases. This smart speaker also understands basic English but that is not a priority for the brand since this product is mainly intended for the Chinese market; a Chinese health home automation market which still represents almost 18 billion euros by 2018. With such a domestic market, we understand that the brand prefers to focus on its local market.

What's interesting in the story is that this product launch doesn't bother Amazon at all. Indeed, the American company could sell the Echo with Chinese voice recognition technology from its competitor. It would also be a good opportunity for iFlytek to join the list of Alexa compatible devices.

This smart speaker is available in white, black, red and purple, the DingDong A3 is not a cylinder identical to the Echo. It is circular at the top and square at the bottom. He is also taller.
