LogicInk – Tattoos that change based on body chemistry

LogicInk tattoos are tattoos that change dynamically, giving you real-time information about your body and your environment. Applied as a temporary tattoo, LogicInk detects perspiration, volatile substances in the skin, the microbiome in the skin; or the surrounding environment to provide live feedback.

The tattoo itself is the visual display, eliminating the need for bulky electronic devices. Finally, LogicInk's sensors are made with ink, their appearance is customizable; which makes them attractive to a much larger population than the other options currently available.

The LogicInk team is currently developing tattoo sensors that capture and transmit information about a person's hydration, blood alcohol level, exposure to pollution and even DNA. At the moment, only the real-time UV exposure sensor is already in production and on the market.

LogicInk UV

LogicInk UV monitors both your UV exposure and your cumulative exposure over the course of a day; taking into account your sunscreen. Whether the porters are at the beach or in the snow, they will never wonder if they have been in the sun too much.

The LogicInk pollution sensor

Air pollutants negatively affect most of the organs and systems of the human body; including our lungs and our skin. The composition of pollutants varies according to places and times. The main pollutants in outdoor air include particles less than 2.5 microns in diameter. Knowing the concentration of the main air pollutants and the duration of our exposure allows us to act to reduce inhalation and protect our skin and our health in general.

The HEVL LogicInk sensor

Finally, the company has developed a high visible energy sensor (HEVL or “blue light”). Unlike ultraviolet (UV) radiation, HEVL overexposure does not make the skin blush; but "HEVL can be as harmful to the skin as UVA and UVB combined", producing uneven pigmentation, premature aging and an altered skin barrier.
