Microsoft Band to be released today

[ad_1]

We expected a smart health connected watch from Microsoft, it will ultimately be an advanced smart health connected bracelet. The Microsoft band will be the brand's first activity sensor and intends to compete with its Samsung counterpart, which released the Gear Fit earlier in the year (moreover, it is largely resuming its design). According to the well-informed American magazine Re / Code, the Microsoft Band goes on sale in the United States today for $ 199 on the group's site, but also in its few physical stores of the Redmond group.

The Microsoft Band incorporates no less than 10 sensors!

In terms of technical characteristics, the Microsoft smart health bracelet is however much more advanced than the competition. Several months ago, a source said that more than 13 sensors would be integrated into the device. In the end, there will only be 10, which is already a great achievement (at least, that can justify the price in the high range of the market). Note in particular the presence of a heart rate sensor, UV sensor as well as a stress sensor. It also has a GPS, which allows the user to record his race data without having to carry his phone.

In addition, the Microsoft Band can retrieve smartphone notifications (SMS, calls, stock market, social media, weather, etc.) on its screen using Bluetooth, but it will also permanently display the time and date on the horizontal screen. It should also be noted that he will use the services of the Cortana voice assistant that he has developed in-house, which will allow him to interact with the device. The design of this one is largely customizable since there are no less than 132 wallpapers that would be available and configurable from the mobile application.

The autonomy of the bracelet will be only 48 hours, which is less than a Jawbone UP24 which lasts 15 days, but it is also understandable given the number of features. As expected, Microsoft has opened up to all operating systems since it is present on Windows Phone, iOS and Android.

Microsoft intends to compete with the Apple HealthKit and the Google Fit which has just been released in the niche of smart health connected health. With its cloud Microsoft Health which he has just published on the three main application stores, he claims to be open to bracelets and applications from the competition. It would be MapMyFitness, RunKeeper and Jawbone in Quantified Self that would be privileged, while the Redmond company would work with Starbucks to allow people to pay directly from their Microsoft Band. Should the SDK be launched publicly next January?
