Misfit Vapor – The new Misfit smartwatch on Android Wear

That's it, we finally know when the Misfit Vapor smartwatch arrives will be marketed. On its site, the brand has indeed announced that its new watch smart health connected with Misfit Vapor will be available on October 31.

The Misfit Vapor will be sold at a price of $ 199.99 and will of course be compatible with iPhones (iOS 9 or more) and Android 4.3+ smartphones. Unveiled at CES last January, the Vapor ran on Misfit’s proprietary operating system, but later that year the company had revised its copy. Obviously, adding Android Wear also means that you will also have access to Google Assistant.

The brand has also removed the GPS. The Misfit Vapor will instead use a “smart health connected GPS”. So you will need your phone to use it. Needless to say, all of this somewhat shaken my confidence and interest in this product; which nevertheless offers a magnificent design.

The Vapor smartwatch has a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen, 4 GB of memory and is water resistant to 50 meters. The watch is 44 mm thick. On the finishing side, you can order it in black, rose gold or gold with a stainless steel case. In terms of tracking your activity, the watch will be equipped with an optical heart rate monitoring on the back.

Well, personally, I really like this watch because I find it beautiful. But it stops there. My question is, isn't it a little too late for Misfit. The brand has teased the whole year on this watch and finally gives us a completely different version. Also, dropping your own operating system is never a good sign anyway.

So, does this new product mark the beginning of a new era at Misfit or the end of an era? I think the sales of this smartwatch will be decisive.
