Mizzle – A smart health connected vegetable garden for health home gardening

Today, I'm going to introduce you to a new smart health connected vegetable patch: the Mizzle vegetable patch. In today's world, as people begin to understand that their health is directly linked to their diet, the demand for fresh produce is increasing rapidly.

In dense urban areas, self-contained hydroponic gardens that can be set up in kitchens meet the need to produce and consume fresh and healthy food.

Mizzle is an intelligent aeroponic kitchen appliance designed to grow small edible vegetables from vegetable seeds and herbs known as micro-greens. Micro-greens are loaded with nutrients, vitamins such as 40 times, compared to the ripe leaves of the same plants.

Gökhan Çetinkaya and Deniz İbanoğlu's Mizzle is a smart cultivator who encourages users to easily grow and consume these food-rich plants at health home. It has three compartments, one for germination which is closed to obtain a dark space and two others which remain in the light for the following stages until the day of harvest.

On each compartment, there is a growth tray. On top of the trays, the user places an aeroponic culture pad containing the seeds of microgreens. The trays are slid into the product to maintain the micro-green growth / harvest loop.

Users can track microgreens and system status with the mobile app. They can add their own Mizzle to the app. They can also follow the current growth cycles of micro-greens; but also receive germination alerts and monitoring the water level in the tank. The app provides more information on different types of microgreens and recipes for each type of microgreens. Finally, users can purchase new seed cushions or additional trays in the app’s online store.

The initial goal of the project was not only for the user to produce healthy green products, but also for the cultivation process to be interesting enough for them to get into the habit of consuming it.
