The English site Android Authority spotted a new model of Motorola smartphone on the site of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It is rumored that this could be a variation of the Moto G8 Plus, the Moto G8 Power.

The Moto G8 Power, a declination of the Moto G8 Plus focused on autonomy, should surface soon. The latter appeared on the site of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and should not differ much from its predecessor.

A G8 Plus with a big battery?

According to data gleaned from the FCC website, this G8 Power would have a 6.2 or 6.3 inch panel and would adopt dimensions of 157.9 x 165 x 7.9 mm. Regarding the processor, it would work on the same platform as the G8 Plus, namely the Snapdragon 665, a mid-range chip. As shown in the diagram below, it could have a single sensor on the back.

Obviously, since it is a smartphone focused on autonomy, its battery would be its big highlight. It would therefore offer a 5,000 mAh accumulator, which would not change from the previous version – which we can possibly regret. But with such an energy-efficient processor, we can hope that Motorola succeeds in offering better autonomy than on the G7 Power which, as a reminder, lasted 26 h 53 min before going out.

According to Mishaal Rahman, editor-in-chief of the XDA-Developers site, this G8 Power would be called "Sofia" internally. It might not happen by itself since a "Sofiap" model would also be in the boxes, a variant of which we do not yet know the details.

Finally, this supposed G8 Power could be released with Android 10 directly, which would make it the first Motorola smartphone to be equipped with the latest version of the Google OS.
