Multifunctional Light – The smart light from Sony

Multifunctional Light is Sony’s new challenge in the world of smart smart health connected light and more generally in the world of health home automation.

Multifunctional Light was imagined to illuminate your interior but also and above all to simplify your life. Developed using advanced LED lighting from Toshiba, you can vary the color and intensity of your lamp according to your mood.

When the Multifunctional Light is smart health connected to your smartphone or any other WiFi device, you can also activate remotely or set up a programmed timer; like most other smart light bulbs. Motion, brightness, temperature and humidity sensors have also been integrated into the luminaire. There is also a slot for inserting an SD card. Finally, an infrared controller, a speaker and a microphone complete the package.

But then, what is it for? How can this lamp simplify our lives? In fact, the Multifunctional Light will be able to detect when you are in a room and turn on the television or the air conditioning. It can also control your thermostat, play music or even act as an alarm system, etc. You can program all of these features as you see fit through the accompanying app. In short, this lamp is more a health home automation hub than a simple lamp.

Normally, this fixture will first be released in Japan during the first half of 2016. It remains to be seen the price and availability date in Europe and North America.
